How the list is made

Short version: we read what the shops publish and what Google shows, and we let nobody pay for position. Here is the longer one.

Sources

The directory covers 58 shops in Chiang Mai and Phuket. Each listing is compiled from three places:

• the shop's own website and rate card;
• its Google Maps listing (address, map pin, opening hours);
• its Google reviews and rating.

Ratings on this site are Google ratings, always shown with the number of reviews behind them.

Prices

Prices are copied from the rate cards shops publish, using the item names and durations as listed. If an item has no duration on the card, it has none here either. If a shop publishes no prices, the listing says nothing about price rather than estimating one.

Ranking

The order starts from the Google rating, smoothed by review count. In plain terms, a perfect 5 from a handful of reviews doesn't automatically outrank a 4.8 from thousands; the more reviews a shop has, the more its rating counts.

On top of that come small bonuses for a shop that publishes a rate card, has a website and lists its opening hours, because those make a shop easier to plan around. They are small: they nudge, they don't overturn the rating.

What doesn't count

Money. There are no paid placements, sponsored spots or featured slots. We also don't claim visits or personal tests; everything is drawn from the sources above.
